This lightly sweet and bright bubbly is tailored for after-dinner. A Piemontese once told me, “After dinner with family, my friends and I hit the local trattoria and gulp Brachetto d’Aqui until the sun comes up!"

In 1961, Giuseppe Bologna purchased a small vineyard with the intention of creating a wine exclusively for his friends and family could enjoy. It was here, among the Bricco dell’Uccellone vines, that a deep love of Barbera was born into Bologna family. They are uncompromising Barbera savants, who regularly produce a range of Barbera’s from this area of Piemonte known as Asti. Located in an area where rolling hills and castles dot the landscape, the Bologna family also embraces local grapes of the area, like this bubbly sweet wine made from Brachetto grapes in the village of Aqui. Lightly sweet and low in alcohol, this Brachetto is an excellent closer to a long meal, especially for those who like it light!
