Ronchi di Cialla 2022 Ribolla Gialla Friuli
Ronchi di Cialla 2022 Ribolla Gialla Friuli
Sourced from a single 50 year old vineyard called Dolegna del Collio, this Ribolla Gialla is a textured white made with a light touch. Ribolla Giallo is a typical grape in orange production, yet in the careful hands of the Rapuzzi brothers it has a bright complexion, integrated acidity and a layered finish, all from only a day long maceration. Tasty Ribolla!
Ronchi di Cialla is an historic producer in Friuli, who’s fortunes have followed the region since then 1970’s. Located in a little valley inland from the rest of the Orientali, known for its whites, the Cialla valley is practically synonymous with Ronchi di Cialla family. Apart from revitalizing the red grape Schioppettino and creating one of the first super-Friuli white blends to storm the market, the Rapuzzi’s have been obsessed with the native grapes of the area since the beginning. Today, they produce unvarnished wines with a distinct Burgundian feel, preferring to showcase native Friulano, Verduzzo, Ribolla, Picolit, Refosco and Schiopettino rather than the international grapes en-vogue. Their wines are made to last decades and vintage Cialla wines can be easily found in the market.
